This policy explains how LendFriend, a trading name of Leadsource International Manager Limited (NZBN 9429047325371) ("we", "us"), handles personal information. We follow the Information Privacy Principles in the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What information do we collect?
When you make an enquiry or talk to us, we may collect:
- your name, phone number, email address and contact details;
- details about your business — name, structure, NZBN, industry, trading history and turnover;
- what you need funding for and how much;
- information about property you or a supporting party own, and existing lending;
- information you choose to share about your credit history or tax position;
- records of our conversations with you.
We also collect limited technical information when you use our website, such as pages visited and device or browser type, to keep the site working and understand how it's used.
How do we collect it?
Mostly directly from you — through our online enquiry form, by phone, or in writing. With your authorisation, we or our lending partners may also collect information from third parties, such as credit reporting agencies, your bank (for bank statement data), property valuers and public registers such as the Companies Office and Land Information New Zealand.
Why do we collect it?
- To understand your situation and contact you about your enquiry.
- To match you with a suitable lender from our lending panel and pass your application to them.
- To help you through the application and settlement process.
- To meet our legal obligations, including identity verification requirements.
- To improve our website and services.
- To let you know about relevant services, if you've agreed to that. You can opt out at any time.
Who do we share it with?
We share your information only as needed for these purposes, including with:
- lenders on our panel that we match you with, so they can assess your application;
- credit reporting agencies, if a lender runs a credit check with your authorisation;
- service providers who help us operate — for example, our online form provider, website hosting, phone and customer-management systems — who must protect your information;
- professional advisers such as lawyers and valuers involved in your loan;
- anyone else you authorise, or where the law requires or permits it.
We don't sell your personal information.
Is my information stored overseas?
Some of our service providers may store information outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the information is protected in a way that, overall, provides comparable safeguards to those in the Privacy Act 2020.
How do we keep it safe?
We use reasonable security safeguards to protect your information from loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure. We keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet legal requirements. If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.

Our website may use cookies and similar technology, including analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our enquiry form is provided through an embedded third-party form service, which processes the details you enter so we can receive your enquiry.
Can I see or correct my information?
Yes. You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it. We may need to verify your identity first, and we'll respond within the timeframes set by the Privacy Act.
